BOISE FARMERS MARKET LEAD (part time position)

Job Summary:


McIntyre Pastures raises proteins on our farm in Caldwell, Idaho.  We take our meats and eggs to the Boise Farmers Market, EVERY Saturday from April to October, 9am-1pm, in Boise Idaho.  This person would lead these efforts by preparing coolers and/or our freezer truck with product (the day before), keep track of inventory (both before and after the day of sales), load all necessary product and supplies, manage online and cash sales, promote our farm and give information about it, our practices, and different cuts of meats at the booth as well as answer any other questions the customer may have.  Safely drive and transport items to the site.  An extra person will accompany as needed, but they will only assist. Unload and put away all product and supplies at the farm upon return, complete necessary paperwork, and account for all sales for the day. Approximately 10-11 hours per week. Possibility for more hours if interested on other assignments.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Safely driving and setting up product and booth in company 1 ton pickup with large, freezer mounted to bed, leaving and returning from the farm
• Maintaining friendly, open contact with all customers, answer questions and concerns (see above), lead all sales at the booth, build rapport, and procure email addresses from potential customers
• Keeping track of all paperwork, cash and card sales
• Maintaining accurate inventory 
• Preparing, loading, and unloading all coolers and other containers for market, signage, tables, tent, etc 
• General cleaning and organizing of vehicle

Requirements:

• Clean driving record
      *Comfortable driving delivery truck in possible high stress situations (ie, heavy traffic, backing into tight spaces, ect)
      *Can easily lift 50+ lbs and get up and down elevated truck bed

• Ability to work in a highly motivated, fast paced environment, where the customer relationship and experience is of utmost importance 
• Ability to use deductive reasoning, problem solve and meet the public, with strong time management skills to maximize this day and make as many sales as possible
• Willingness to report to management.
• Willingness to take responsibility for work performed, oversights, and areas of
improvement.
• Strong ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Expected Hours:

• Hours:  6:30-2:30 (approx, Saturday), with a few hours of preparation on Friday

Work Location:

17708 Lewis Lane, leave and return from Farm Store, travel and set up at Boise Farmers Market

Compensation:

• $18/hr

INVENTORY/FULFILLMENT MANAGER, Customer Service Rep (Full time position)

McIntyre Family Farms raises proteins on site to provide our customers with sources of nutrient-dense foods. The primary distribution model evolves around taking orders through our website (www.mcintyrepastures.com) as well as walk in customers into our on farm retail store.  This person will help with all back end duties to make the customer experience for all methods, the best it can possibly be.  They will be in charge of inventory, logistics, fulfillment of orders, running the store, helping with data entry and reports, wholesale routes and more.

Job Summary:

This manager will be working from our Farm Store, back end, and freezers.  He/she will be heading up all inventory from cut sheets to receipt of product and be responsible for keeping accurate records (with our online system) of inventory, especially month end counting.  Lead on pulling, packing, and processing all orders.  Will answer most incoming calls and emails, resolving customer concerns and inquiries.  Prepare home delivery and wholesale routes weekly. Assist in Farm Store procurement and margins as well as in-house prepping of products, accounts receivables and payables.  This person will work to keep the premises clean and tidy, fully stocked, and help customers who come into the store front. Help with monthly data input and sales tax reporting as well as events hosted at the farm as needed. 

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  •  Maintain all inventory, processing of orders, logistics, and reminders on our online platform, Grazecart.
  • Farm Store stocking, procurement, customer service and assist with sales and events as needed.  Lead on value add products produced in store to include, but not limited to pet treats, tallow skin care, and sourdough tortillas
  • Cleanliness and organization of work space, freezers, and store
  • Submit cut sheets for all species:  beef, pork, and poultry as it goes in for processing.  Match up and oversee returned products are counted and match up with what went out, crate or box incoming meat,  and put into freezers
  • Answer phone calls and emails, resolving customer concerns and inquiries
  • Basic data entry of monthly totals, assist with A/R and A/P within Quickbooks, as well as monthly sales tax reporting
  • Prepare and route home delivery and wholesale deliveries, create and print and/or send corresponding Quickbooks invoices
  • Possible lead on being the liaison for bulk beef and pork orders to include working with processors, receiving orders, answering questions, running deposits, sending out emails and texts, assigning 1/2's and 1/4's, running final payment, and ultimately helping the customer have a positive experience that they would like to repeat

Required Skills and Abilities:

Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines

Good knowledge and use of excel/ microsoft suite/ google docs/ and possibly Quickbooks

Be able to easily lift 50 lbs, climb a ladder, and get up and down from a elevated pickup bed

A positive can-do attitude, a willingness to pitch in and participate as part of the team, and a flexible approach that doesn’t include the words “that’s not my job.”

Expected Hours:

• Hours per day: 8

• Typical Work-Day Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. (lunch break will be given)

• Work one Saturday per month, running the Farm Store:  9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
